Peacock table

So I found these great solid maple pieces on CL. Two large chests/dressers and this
cute little side table.  I felt sort of sheepish because as the lady was helping me load them
into my truck she said, "I'm so glad these are going to someone who appreciates their beauty and won't
paint them." !!! ouch.....

Well, I do appreciate their beauty. But this is no longer 1953.
I'm sorry, but this style/color stain just doesn't cut it. ;)
I know. It's beautiful wood. But it's maple. It's not like it's black walnut. Sheesh.
I mixed up my own CP using Glidden's "black onyx".  This table was very glossy so I sanded the faces and using a deglosser on the rest. I used a foam brush to apply the paint. What a diff! Black shows everything single brush stroke and mar. The foam brush made it nice and smooth. Especially
on the legs.  Ya know, if you click on the pic while you are reading this, it's supersized on your screen!

You know how I love my blues and greens and purples! I got out a whole
mess 'o colors and got all Van Gogh-like!

This one will be hitting my booth!!!

  1. I like the two toned look, and loving the darker stain with the Peacock on top! Very Nice job, bet it sells soon! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
