Reclaimed Wood

I really love working with reclaimed wood. I found a few guys in Laguna that have a
business, "True American Grain" traveling throughout the US and salvaging old wood from old barns and houses. They schlep it back home and farm it out.
I offered to make a sign using their wood and logo.
Here's the wood:
I believe he said he pulled this from a very old barn in TN.

And here's your sign:
Love my milk paint!

He is another sign done using some old fruit crates I picked up:
I suppose you could get the same effect with pallet boards.
For this one, I used chalk paint.

I found "True American Grain" because I want to use
reclaimed wood on my vaulted ceiling in the living room. Herringbone pattern, thankyouverymuch.

Kinda like this, but not too rustic and not too "perfect wood".  Ya know what I mean???
I plan on using some weathered gray stain and probably some white and gray milkpaint to
distress it a bit. Rustic, beachy, homey,,,,running out of adjectives....

Hate this light!  I found the perfect chandelier!

Anyway,,,,I'm sure installation on my 14ft ceiling will be a pice of cake.  Ahem.
(I am repainting the room gray for the 2nd time. The first gray came out too blue. I'm trying more of a gray-gray. The accent wall is a charcoal.

Can't wait to get started on this project. I know Mr Pretty can't wait either.  Uh, yeah, right.
Toodles!

  4. Wood pallets have proven to be suitable for bacterial growth. This has made their use quite questionable for food containing purposes. It has been investigated that the these pallets are home to bacteria called E. coli and salmonella. These bacteria can cause a great harm to health of many people who use that food contained in these Los Angeles Pallets.
