Another French provincial....Really??? Yeah I know. I'm pretty darn sick of doing
them myself! But I got such a killer deal on this one I figured what the hay.
So,,,,Your typical '70's style....
It was part wood and part MDF laminate.
I gave everything a light sanding and used a wood sealer. I wanted the paint to stick! I used
Ben Moore's satin paint, not chalk paint this time. No distressing on this one.
For the silver I used Martha Stewarts metallic paint. She has many shades and the paint is great!
I used the middle color on the bottom of the dresser. "Thundercloud". The rest were used on the mirror
you will see below.
I saw another blogger do one in white and dip the bottom in gold. I thought I would try black
I had left over mirror from another project. Had just enough to do both of the doors. I had given the door one coat of black and waited until I was through grouting (below) to do the second coat.
I used unsanded charcoal grout and applied with a rubber spatula thingy.
I had to spice up the insides!
The drawer fronts got some fabric applied with Mod Podge underneath and then a watered down version on the top. Let dry and sand off the excess. Very easy!
Some orange paint on the inside doors gives a nice jolt of color!
I found that solid wood frame on CL and re-did it in silver. I just have to find a mirror to fit inside.
I love it! And it goes great w/the dresser!!!
But, I'm not keeping it :(
